Established formally in 2014 Hope For The Elderly Ministries Uganda was along time vision of its founder, Ms Josephine Apio. Raised in a poverty and HIV/AIDS infected area, Josephine grew up to witness great impoverishment and affliction in her community particularly among the elderly who didn’t have much care. Her great attachment to one of these seniors made her promise herself to do something about their condition as soon as she could. A relentless prompt within her spirit coupled with persistent calls from within the community for such services confirmed that this was a divine mission. Improve the socio-economic and spiritual wellbeing of the elderly and their dependants.

Ms Josephine Apio. Raised in a poverty and HIV/AIDS infected area, I grew up to witness great impoverishment and affliction in my community particularly among the elderly who didn’t have much care. I used to support an elderly person with basic needs since 2009, but in June 27, 2012, she fell sick and really wanted to give me her last words but unfortunately it was the day i gave birth to my daughter. When I heard she died i decided to name my daughter Hope. Her death gave me courage to help other elderly people in my community to give them hope to live a hopeful life. Read More
Programme Interventions.
HFTEMU currently pursues the following programme Interventions.
Spiritual nurture. HFTEMU undertakes fellowships and individual home based prayers with the beneficiary seniors. This is aimed at bringing hope to the lives of the seniors who are in most cases dejected but also prepare them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ since they are in their terminal days. Distribution of Beddings for the elderly.

With the help of friends in the United States of America, we received funds for 14 beddings for the elderly which includes; A bed frame, mattress, blanket and bed sheets per head. Read More
Tuition for nursing students under the care of the elderly.

Hope For The Elderly Mushroom growing and Peanut Butter Project.
This was a project established through the HFTEMU community based skills interventions for the elderly households with a goal of providing them with a sustainable means of self support. Fresh , dry mushrooms and peanut butter were sold by the reporting period and was spent on basic needs for the elderly and the children under their care and part the mushrooms and peanut were eaten by the beneficiaries.
